INFATUATED / This is me, Telling you, I love you by Ani
too far out of reach I love // issue01: LOVE
we all have a love letter or poem somewhere hidden in our night table drawers - ever wondered what you're gonna do with this one letter you once wrote at 3am which you know you'll never send/give to the person anyways? or maybe you've shared your writing (and feelings) with your loved one already and wanna share your love publicly on the Internet for hopeful romantics to read?

I'm Ani (she/they), a poet, writer and artist from the UK. My writing tends to be in the form of poetry, flash fiction or articles, majorly reviewing music on Dead Good Music Blog. I find inspiration in almost everything, my life, what I'm reading (currently 'Our Share Of The Night' by Mariana Enriquez), the music I'm listening to (currently Nick Cave and the bad seeds) and so much more. Ultimately, I wish to create, consume and share art in as many forms as possible.
INFATUATED / This is me, Telling you, I love you by Ani
dedication: Firstly, as cliche and silly as it may sound, I will always dedicate my work to my closest family and friends. I really cannot express how much their support means to me. But these two poems in particular, these are dedicated more specifically, to an old friend, a comfortable stranger and the girl I never got the opportunity to love.
INFATUATED
You made me a lover and a liar
Infatuated at the mere thought of you
When the thought of your pictures, hazy and blurred, mean more than the moon,
Desperate for something more,
Even though the moon will last forever, and I can’t remember how you sound,
Knowing that if it ever came
The nausea would come, and id forget to let it go (I’m not sure I can let go)
This is me,
Telling you,
I love you.
I love.
And I love.
Each person the sun, and my eyes get burnt
And I get bored
I never did like the sun much anyway.
But you are no sun.
You are a moon, with imperfections that make you oh so perfect,
A beauty so entrancing
And never quite burning my eyes
But too far out of reach
I love.
But it hasn’t gone away.
And I don’t know what to do.
